Flowers on the banks of the Seine by Claude Monet

One of the most famous impressionist artists is, of course, the French painter Claude Monet. Impressionism with the help of special, inherent only in this style, artistic means, involves the image of the emotional component, the impression of the artist from what he saw. Monet is the author of a large number of world-famous masterpieces, written in this style. The painting “Flowers on the banks of the Seine near Veteya”, written in 1880, is considered one of the most famous works of the great master.

In 1878, the artist transports his family to the small village of Veteia, located near Paris on the banks of the Seine. Fresh country air and an abundance of nature inspired Claude Monet to write a large number of river landscapes, one of the most striking examples of which is the painting “Flowers on the banks of the Seine near Veteu.”

In the picture the artist depicted a hot summer day, light clouds float across the sky, reflecting in the waters of the river Seine. The shore is full of wildflowers that merge into the green-yellow sea.

The work was written in the characteristic manner of impressionism – the artist captured on it his impressions and experiences caused by the magnificent view of nature. While living and working in Veteu, Claude Monet wrote a whole series of landscapes devoted to the River Seine, depicting the same locality, but at different times of day and in different weather, as if carefully observing nature, which is in constant change.
