Work “Breakfast” – a picture of the early work of Oscar Claude Monet. Despite the relatively young age in which the impressionist Monet painted the canvas, his “Breakfast” turned out to be very solid, real and family-like warm. In general, the canvas is almost photographic, with the exception of some errors in the image of the child, around which the morning meal revolves. In the narration of the usual scene for the heroines there are a lot of finely noticed trifles in the setting of the room, women’s dresses of the second half of the XIX century and traditions.
To immerse the viewer in the aura of a warm family environment associated with the difficult, but sweet, task of feeding the baby, Monet used a win-win combination of strict atmosphere and stiffness of the ladies with a direct and sweet child. The presence of a warm and helpless little boy touches and disarms the nurse, next to his mother and a young maid. However, affection breaks into the hearts of the admirers of Claude Monet themselves. The attention is riveted by scrupulous attention to trifles in the interior of the room.
Wooden chairs, more constructive design than decorative, look very sturdy and expensive. In the lines of chairs and pouf, ornateness is still observed, but the minimalism of the upcoming modernity is already present. The interior has a lot of brown and chocolate colors. Only a few details, such as a ceramic table lamp, a tablecloth and a light window, are painted in shades of a gray-white mixture. Dark women seem to be dark. Except, of course, ruddy prankster with a white diaper on his chest.
Pay attention to the tulle curtains. He has a complex pattern, prescribed with jewelery patience. Morning dishes and their variety received the same attention. On the table there are bunches of ripe grapes and assorted cookies on a dish, and white chicken eggs in original coasters, sauces in decanters and a fresh newspaper in addition to the meal. I would like to hope that the breakfast of the young aristocrat was a success for glory under the scrutiny of Claude Monet and the nurse, and mother, and numerous viewers from different eras. The admirers of the painter’s talent, at least, have long appreciated the quality of the meal and the equally rich canvas palette.
