In April 1933, after the Nazi party came to power, the Bauhaus school closes. The pressure on avant-garde artists in Germany is increasing more and in 1934 Basil and Nina are moving to Paris. This picture, one of the first after moving, refers to the so-called “biomorphic abstraction”, which replaced the strict geometricity of the German creative period.
A certain role was played here by scientific discoveries in the field of biology. In fact, Kandinsky began to experiment with new forms, while still in Germany. However, the creative peak of the biomorphic period fell on the years of life in Paris, so it is also called the “Paris period”.
