Ice sculptures by Natalia Goncharova

Ice sculptures by Natalia Goncharova

Very expressive picture. It turns out that the tradition of creating ice sculptures has arisen for a very long time. Here and here a group of men cuts out a frozen block of ice from the frozen river and takes it away on a sleigh to the place where the sculpture was created.

We do not see the sculptures themselves, but the artist gives this story in such a way that you can involuntarily imagine them, these invisible sculptures: even the trees seem to have been created from the ice, their frozen, tattered branches with sharp, cutting ends are so expressive. The combination of colors in the painting also creates this feeling of cold and ice.
