A couple of decades Pablo did not show this work to the public. At that time, such a canvas was too provocative and would have sparked a big scandal. The picture was seen only by close friends of the artist, whose opinions were the most diverse: someone was admired, and someone on the contrary – hated it with all his soul.
Behind the artist’s shoulders is already a great creative path, passing through many styles and trends in search of his “that” path. Writing this picture was a tremendous breakthrough in the field of visual art, putting Picasso in the forefront and making it one of the most popular painters of all time. This picture was the beginning of a new era of painting, which was called cubism.
