The lower field of the original board is much wider than the top, from which it can be concluded that the icon had a handle and was a two-sided precessional manner.

Iconographically, it is close to the type, called “Our Lady Hodegetria of Georgia.” But from this iconography the monument is distinguished by the fingerprints of the baby’s right hand and its position in front of his face, in a gesture of demonstration. The infant shows with this gesture that He is Jesus Christ. Maria is depicted in a strong inclination towards him, although her gaze is directed towards the viewer. These nuances make it memorable by an iconographic rarity.

With a rather ascetic colorful scale and a little layer of a valley letter, the icon was decorated with subtle assists decorated with beautifully combined with gold nimbuses, as well as lightweight modeling of the maforia flaps. The style of the icon and the character of the expressiveness of the image make it possible to date it in the second quarter – the middle of the 17th century. and attributed to the iconography of the Russian North.
