Utrillo wrote a lot of Paris, but most often chose such its corners, which do not correspond to the widespread notions of the noisy artistic capital of the world. In fact, his Parisian views are provincial – in the good sense of the word.
And they differ little from the actual provincial landscapes – like those presented on this page. The artist saw the beauty in modest, provincial places and opened it in his simple-hearted works.
