Andrei D. Zakharov, the architect. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, then in Paris with the architect Shalgren. He taught architecture at the Academy; had many works in St. Petersburg and Gatchina.

Its main creation is the building of the St. Petersburg Admiralty; from less significant works of his issued the church of the Apostle Paul in the village of Alexander along the Schliesselburg road, St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Kronstadt.
