The plot of the village life: a peasant house, a smithy, a stable, or, perhaps, a stable. A wooden board fence separates from the road a garden with young, thin trees.
At the smithy two men talk – the customer and the blacksmith, next to the horse, harnessed in a cart loaded with boards. Men, most likely, agree on the performance by the blacksmith of some work, perhaps it is necessary to shoe a horse. It’s autumn, the greens have lost the freshness of the colors, the sky is gray, the colors are not bright. The artist paints a picture without sharpening the outline, imposing colors carelessly blurred strokes.
