Perhaps, this is the most famous “land” landscape of Aivazovsky.
In it, the elements of the genre picture are evident, indicating a certain ethnographic curiosity of the artist. But here, too, “everyday life” turns out to be not quite “everyday” – romantic emotionalism shows in the image of the rural celebration accompanying the wedding of the young.
The festivity of the atmosphere is emphasized by bright spots of clothes, contrasting with the gloomy tones of the pre-threatening clouds, heavily floating over the village.
