Jewish wedding by Eugene Delacroix

Being in Morocco, Delacroix was led to a Jewish wedding. Eugene wrote down everything so that he would not miss anything when he was painting the picture. The wedding consisted of two actions: day and night. In the afternoon the crowd gathers at the house and is here until the night. Then the wedding goes to the rooms.

The artist portrayed the guests gathered at the house. They sit and stand. They play musical instruments. Here is a girl dancing in a beautiful attire. In the doorway are the bride and groom. A young man with a tray is probably collecting money for the young. From the top with the balconies watching with curiosity. The combination of clothes of wedding guests and a light illuminated wall looks festive and elegant.
