A public house is an institution that is not able to successfully “function” without organization and strict submission to the owners. The “labor force” must obediently submit to those who, perhaps, in terms of their human qualities, are not fit to snatch the exploited women.
In the work “Contributors of the brothel” Toulouse-Lautrec with amazing accuracy, worthy of a professional psychologist, created the image of two characters of the brothel, vested with the power to dispose of the body of their “subordinates”.
Mental abilities, as well as life priorities of the keepers of the vicious institution, are clearly read on their faces, which obviously do not cause sympathy.
