The sequence of scenes on the sidebar can be read in different ways. Traditional, more appropriate to the content of the literary suffering of St.. George, is the next option.
The initial episode of Suffering is in the upper left hallmark. This is the Bringing of George to the king, before whom he confesses the Christian faith.
The second episode is the upper right-hand stigma, in which the saint, by order of the tsar, is beaten with oxen veins.
The third episode is the left middle mark, in which George is imprisoned.
The fourth episode is the left lower mark, where George in the dungeon prays to the Savior.
The fifth episode – the middle right-wing stigma – George pierces his ribs with a spear.
The sixth episode is the lower right-hand stigma, in which the saint is tortured with iron hooks.
A slice is a fragment of a work that is rare by the principle of layout of the hagiographic stamps. Painting has artistic merits and has historical, cultural and museum significance. In this collection a fragment of the same work is an icon with four hallmarks of the life of George
