The city of Rouen is located on the banks of the Seine, in addition, through it flow its tributaries, in particular the river Obett, Robec and Caye. Rouen was supposedly founded by the Romans and in ancient times was called Rotomagus. In the 5th century AD, the city became the residence of the bishop, and during the Merowing, it received the status of the capital of Neustria. In the 9th century, Rouen was conquered by the Normans and has since become the capital of Normandy and the residence of the Norman dukes.
