The wife of PA Kikin. Torsukova – noble family, dating back to the beginning of the XVII century. Torsukovs served on the city of Orel. Portrait of MA Kikina, paired to the portrait of Kikina PA, much higher than his artistic qualities. The image of MA Kikina, imprinted by many contemporary artists, attracts K. Bryullov in her work with her spirituality.
Bryullov saw in her appearance those qualities of a Russian woman, which OA Kiprensky showed in a heartfelt manner in the portraits of E. P. Rostopchina, A. I. Golovina, and D. N. Khvostova. Clarity and calmness of the spirit, simplicity and naturalness of the pose inherent in the images of Kiprensky, are reflected in the portrait characteristics of Briullov.
