
Antonio Ugarte is a Spanish politician. Collaborated with the Russian Embassy. Thanks to Ambassador D. P. Tatishchev, Fernandu VII was introduced and became an important person in his retinue. In 1815-1821 Dmitry Pavlovich Tatischev, a well-known diplomat who entered the history of Russia as a keen expert and passionate art collector, was the envoy in Madrid. In the vast collection of paintings by Tatishchev there were real masterpieces of Van Eyck, Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci and many other geniuses of Western European painting. Today, works of art collected in his time by Tatishchev, adorn the best museums of the country.
