This is Dali’s early work. Performed in a somewhat naive manner, it is simple and uncomplicated. In front of the spectator, the radiant surface of the sea or the lake, surrounded by fruit trees, opens.
A small bird sits on one of the trees. Two boats sail along the water, their reflections sparkle and crumble on the surface of the water.
The landscape is made in the technique of pointillism, large dotted strokes. On the shore a white blanket is spread, a bottle of a drink is standing, a vase of fruit. On the blanket in a free natural position is a naked girl. She is very young, she has a ruddy face, black hair, a sly smile plays on her lips. The picture does not conceal mysteries, painful secrets, obsessive images.
Just a warm day, a bright landscape, a young cheerful girl. A lot of light, air and summer languor.
