Painting “Moonlight Night” was created by the artist in 1880. Kramskoy attracted night landscapes. Here he strives to show us all the magic, illumination by the moonlight, as everything changes with the onset of the night, transforming beyond recognition.
In front of us, in the center of the picture, a beautiful, young woman, sits on a bench in an old park, near a pond. She is wearing a white dress. Everything around it shimmers with the silvery light of the moon. From the picture it breathes silence and tranquility. In my opinion, the woman thought, maybe she remembers something, her face was wrapped in sadness. Her dress looks like a wedding dress.
Nature, however, the artist painted impeccable picturesque lines. The image of the woman present in the picture creates a romantic atmosphere, has to think over the plot.
I imagine that a woman is waiting for someone, and probably this is her friend, they have not seen each other for many years, and during this time much has happened and changed in the life of the heroine. She married an unloved person, at the insistence of her parents and is not happy in marriage. She loves quite another, who had to leave the country. But the girlfriend is late and probably will not come.
In the eyes of a woman longing for loneliness, no one understands it, it is hard for her in this world. And she sits and remembers how cheerful and cheerful she was, some 10 years ago. That nothing prevented her from loving, and being loved. And now she needs to return home, where her husband is waiting, whom she only respects. From this, it becomes even more painful and involuntarily a tear rolls from her eyes. There is no magic, and it’s impossible to turn back the time, the years that have passed have not gone through anew and we need to move forward.
The picture of Kramskoy allows you to dream, think out the plot and fantasize. Allows you to invent your fairy tale with a happy ending, but when you look at the face of this young woman you realize that the end can not be happy, the sadness envelops the viewer along with the main character, and already involuntarily, creating your story, you begin to empathize with it.
