Eugene painted with passion tigers, lions, horses, their fierce struggle for existence. He deliberately went to the zoo and fed tigers through meat. to see how the tiger tears the meat, as it looks. Here and in this picture, the artist joined the lions and horses, as if feeling the jaws on his horse’s chest under his hands, the soft lever of the lion’s paw. People, horses and lions are entwined in a single bleeding tangle, and it is impossible to understand how the artist saw it, imagined it!
