Golden autumn. Slobidka by Isaac Levitan

Traveling along the Volga was a favorite hobby of the artist. Many pictures of the author are associated with this mighty river. And this time, when Levitan visited his favorite place Ples on the Volga, he wrote this work.

The picture is inherent in duality: on the one hand it shows the richness of nature, a bright autumn short-time, on the other – the simple life of a Russian village.

In the picture you can see the rickety peasant houses, driving through the road, yellowed forest. In the depths of the product are calm color shades. Here the artist showed the greatness of this large space, as well as the quiet expectation of cold and rainy days.

In the picture, as if visible cyclical life. The village is located in the middle of green fields. The last sunny days are worthwhile, although the sun is no longer warm. On the left stands a slender birch with yellowed foliage. This birch is a bright spot compared to other trees, dropping their leaves and darkened, they seem to be waiting for the onset of winter to plunge into hibernation before the spring arrival.

A country road stretches along skewed houses, as if it freezes from a dilapidated hedge made of twisted rods, which clings to the outer hut, and then appears among the fields and disappears somewhere on the horizon.

Thus, the master showed that life is a natural course of events, summer is replaced by autumn, it, in turn, is winter, etc. It is a continuous cycle of the life of nature.
