The Presentation of the Lord is presented in a complicated iconographic variant, which became widespread in the 17th century. On this icon, the traditional scene of the Presentation is supplemented with an instructive depiction of the future salvation of those who believe in Christ, and infernal torment for those who do not accept Christianity.
In the lower corners – the prophet Simeon for writing prophecy, to the right – the angel points to the fulfillment of the prophecy. Above left – the angel shows the Mother of God and the infant the tools of his future suffering. The composition is crowned with the image of the Lord of hosts, sitting on the cherubim. The icon is interesting for iconography and a very high-quality monument of Palekh iconography of the end of the XIX century. Represents an artistic and museum value
