In the picture “Californian moon” American artist Guy Johnson portrayed both a romantic, grotesque and provocative-intimate situation. A man of Arab appearance in something hotly convinces a young woman standing next to him; his face expresses impatience, and her – indecision.
At first glance, the general mood of the picture resembles American films of the forties, but the attributes in the background of the picture are somewhat prosaic. It becomes clear why this beautiful woman turned out to be at night in such a dubious place. It seems that this is the debut of our heroine in the role of a corrupt woman.
