His last two months, Van Gogh lived in Over. At that time he wrote about eighty works – on average more than one a day.
In a few weeks he painted thirteen portraits, he hardly ever reached this speed even in Nuenen.
In youth and children, he was more interested than ever, seeing in them a symbol of a carefree, optimistic life.
