According to the church legend, the icon was revealed during the service of the Apostle Thomas in Arabia. The image of the Mother of God is full of simple-hearted charm. The edge of her “moire” maforia is decorated with a border with the text of a glorifying hymn.
The head of Mary is crowned with a fairy-tale royal crown.
On her shoulders and forehead instead of the usual stars – symbols of virginity – medallions with the heads of angels are depicted – echoes of ancient stones. Celebration of the icon is celebrated on September 19 n. Art.
