In the landscape “Spring in the Western Territory” affected Turzhansky’s love for the countryside with its eternal motives. It is as if accidentally snatched the view of a corner of the countryside with a white church in the background and peasant houses surrounded by fences. The entire canvas is as if filled with the rays of the spring sun.
The artist uses a free, sketchy manner of writing, in which a large role is assigned to a colorful brushstroke – a broad, juicy, loaded with paint, tangibly conveying the flesh of things. The Turzhansky does not aspire to multi-color painting, it limits its palette in several colors, extracting from them an increased sonority. It is characterized by the stability of color, the inviolability of tone and a deep correspondence with the content of Russian nature.
