A sunny morning in the apiary, a colorful, almost fabulous beekeeper patiently waits until his wards bees finish gathering nectar from wildflowers to mow down “unnecessary” and extra plants.
The owner of the apiary is full of patience, devoid of all vanity. His touching attitude to bees is the result of many years of experience with honey plants, an innate sense of harmony with nature, a respect for her. The character of the hero is told by some details, to which the artist draws the attention of the audience: a cross, a key on the belt, a short-cropped beard, neatly combed hair, and impeccably clean clothes.
Before us is a person who lives by special laws, most likely away from other people. He is used to solitude, finds in it a special charm. Sunlight concentrates on the hands and face of the beekeeper. Apiary behind him looks like a mysterious town. The path, compositionally dividing the picture into two parts, simultaneously denotes the boundary of the bee kingdom and the presence of man in this particular bee world.
