Master of the Bologna School Domenichino in his work more than other artists of this school was guided by the art of the High Renaissance. The painter studied in Bologna with L. Carracci, worked in Rome with A. Carracci, studied the works of Raphael and Correggio. He executed paintings in the Roman churches of San Luigi dei Francesi and Sant Andrea della Ballet, also wrote easel works.

To some extent they anticipate Poussin’s classic compositions. Other famous works: “The Last Communion of St. Jerome.” 1614. Pinakothek, the Vatican; “Hunting Diana.” OK. 1620.
