Italian artist Francesco Furini was born in Florence, served as a priest in the parish of Sant Ansano in Mugello. Here he began to paint pictures on mythological and religious subjects.
The works of the painter are dominated by female nude figures, they are characterized by a refined, full of eroticism idealism. The plot of Furini’s painting “Lot and his daughter” is a myth about the vicious connection between Lot and his daughters. According to legend, the daughters of Lot, left without husbands, decided to give birth to descendants from their father, watering him. First, the older daughter joined in the connection, the next day – the youngest.
