A young but naturally talented artist quickly realized that the sunlight in his native places, albeit special, but represents a certain difficulty for plein air painting. The bright sun created stronger contrasts, and for an artist working in the style of impressionism, to achieve a tonal unity of the composition created, it was sometimes problematic.
The painting “Landscape in Egez-Morte” is one of the successful variants of solving this problem.
The Port-fortress of Egez-Mort is a historic place, the Basilei Montpellier Manor was 80 km from this medieval structure.
