Grimaces of the ocean by Jim Burns

Illustrating the history of love affairs, Burns is pretty podnatorn in the image of the anatomy of the human body and has received recognition in the publishing world. Soon there was a long-awaited meeting with the publishers of fiction – and from now on the artist’s heart belonged only to this amazing genre. Worked Jim Burns quite productively, his covers adorned the products of many famous publishers. Among the authors who were fortunate enough to collaborate with Burns, such well-known names as Ray Bradbury, Robert Holdstock, Harry Harrison, Robert Silverberg, Arthur Clark and others.

Particularly fruitful was the joint project with Harrison. To design the book “The History of the Planet,” Jim wrote 30 large oil paintings. In the picture of Jim Burns “Grimaces of the Ocean” we see the raging waves of the cosmic ocean and several large strange ships. Evil inhabitants of the depths of the sea try to attack the sailors caught in the storm. The insidiousness of the underwater world is extremely dangerous.
