Painting of the French painter Jean Honore Fragonard “Rendezvous”. The size of the painting is 318 x 216 cm, canvas, oil. This work of Fragonard is also included in a series of paintings on the theme of “Love of Persecution”, designed to decorate the Louvensien castle of the King’s favorite Madame Du Barry.
In the 1770s, the works of Fragonard with gallant scenes and playful stories became especially popular in Paris and other major European cities, so that the artist managed to make himself a good fortune. But the Great French Revolution almost completely ruined the painter, and the style of classicism, reigning in French art with the light hand of Jacques-Louis David, deprived the picture and work of Fragonard, created in the style of rococo, the former demand.
