Ferdinand Waldmüller – the largest representative of the Austrian bieder-meyer – wrote poetic, joyful landscapes, rural scenes, portraits. Waldmuller studied at the Vienna Academy of Arts, was its professor in 1829-1857. He worked in Prague, Brno, Vienna, Zagreb.
For the portraits of Waldmuller characterized by refined color, realistic manner, attention to the smallest details. His still lifes with classic vases, outstanding in the author’s esthete, and luxurious bouquets are somewhat chilly, but they give the impression of confidence in the power of their beauty.
