In the short time that Georges Braque spent in Marseilles, he managed to create six paintings in the genre of cubism with a depiction of local landscapes. Like all ingenious inventions and ideas, they were not immediately accepted and understood by society.
This series of paintings was later shown at a personal exhibition of the artist, which allowed to enlighten the audience in the field of a new kind of painting and change their opinion on a new direction of art.
“Houses in Estaca” played a big role in the development of Cubism and the popularity of its author.
