
Milton was the favorite poet of Bleic, and this explains why the artist has tried to create illustrations for his works more than once. His main works in this field are three watercolor series based on the famous Milton’s poem “Paradise Lost.” Their artist created in 1807, 1808 and 1822 years.
Blake illustrated other works of Milton, including the poem “Returned Paradise.” Here are the following illustrations for this poem: “The Risen Christ” and “Christ, rejecting the feast of Satan.” Next is the work “The Extermination of Apostates”. In addition, Blake wrote and published in the form of an “illuminated book” the poem “Milton.”
