
The icon characterizes one of the directions of the Vologda iconography of the 16th century. It is distinguished by the original drawing of the figure of Christ, unusually thin, with small feet and palms, and also rare methods of modeling clothes.
In the color composition of the work, a subtle decorative flair of the master was revealed, skillfully combining translucent unhidden colors – orange groundhog, ocher of various shades, blue indigo, green paint, used a variety of auripigment and decorated with white “pearls” even the fasteners of the Gospel. Icon is an artistic work of museum dignity
