Another poetic aspect of Russian nature is the autumn landscapes. There is an opinion that the fall on the canvas, as well as the sunset, is very difficult to spoil – the bright colors of the trees will always look aesthetically and luxuriously. Igor Grabar did not pass this season. His painting “Rowan” is unusually colorful.

The central color of the work is a rich red – the artist painted the leaves and clusters of mountain ash. Shades a bright accent color – a thick yellow, embodying a long flowing birch foliage, ready to just about throw itself off this beautiful outfit. Exceptional picturesqueness differs background – it’s a green lawn with a piercing brown earth, yellow fields in the distance and a blue-white calm autumn sky. Master filigree plays with colors and their combinations.

The technique of painting the painting is also very remarkable – long confident strokes, contrasting combinations, a three-dimensional realistic embodiment of the elements. Work should be attributed already to postimpressionism – this picture is not a momentary impression, but a contemplative reflection on the long-term state of the surrounding world, embodied on canvas. The composition of the work is quite simple and “rarefied” – freely placed trees, a clear scenic background, bright colors allow you to fully enjoy the presented landscape.

However, despite the free construction, the work is perceived very seamlessly and harmoniously. Igor Grabar created with his talented hand another lyrical ode to beauty, elegance and splendor of the autumn days.
