The portrait of UM Smirnova is fanned with warmth and poetry. As in all the lyrical portraits of the master, the landscape plays a huge role in it. The motive of the alley with the sunlight reflecting on the path of the park was inspired by the landscapes of MI Lebedev, whom Bryullov highly valued, saying that “Russia could be proud of it as the best landscape painter in Europe”
