In the depiction of a landscape with ancient buildings, as well as everyday scenes from the life of the Western Slavs, the artist follows history. But, in essence, the historical motive serves only as a canvas, according to which an artistically-generalized image of a harmonious, happy life takes shape.
Before us is pacifying nature, well-dressed people, gentle, greenish-bluish tones, in which the picture is solved – all this is much more like a dream of a bright future than on the disturbing, deprived life of past centuries.
