This series of very intonational and dramatic altars, consisting of the Seven acts of charity, this scourging and Christ by the column, were written for several months after arriving in the city, instantly making Caravaggio the most talked painter in Naples. Many, including famous artists from different countries, were later inspired by the works of Michelangelo.
