Picture of Vittore Carpaccio “Madonna and Child with Saints”. The size of the picture is 96 x 126 cm, wood, oil.
The artist in his work depicted the Madonna on the throne with the infant Christ and John the Baptist. To the left of the Blessed Virgin Mary is St. Joseph and Saint Anna, to the right – Saint Elizabeth and Saint Zacharias. Over the bizarre arc of the old, almost destroyed bridge, endless houses are piling up.
Among them are beautiful Venetian palazzos or churches, all resembling real buildings. The artist often moves the characters to his beloved Venice, organically filling the picture space with episodes from the life of ordinary Venetians, depictions of deer, leopards or pets.
