The painting comes from the collection of Archduke Leopold Wilhelm in Brussels.
After the death of Leopold, Wilhelm went to the Austrian assembly of the Habsburgs. Apparently, it is the earliest in a group of stylistically close to each other compositions, such as “The Madonna with the Saints Ulf and Brigitte,” “The Madonna with St. Anthony and the Child John the Baptist,” “The Madonna with Saints Stephanus, Hieronymus and George”
