The Laurentian Library was designed by Michelangelo in 1524 for the Church of San Lorenzo in Florence. The whole structure, including the interior of the premises, was designed by the master in the innovative, at that time, style of Mannerism.
This work is one of the most important architectural achievements of Michelangelo. It is characterized by innovative and revolutionary ways of using space.
