Spanish painter Luis Royo was born in 1954 in the town of Teruel in Spain, known as an illustrator of fantasy books, photo artist and draftsman. Royo studied painting in Zaragoza at the School of Technical Design and the School of Applied Arts.
From 1972 to 1976, the artist participated in several public exhibitions of masters of painting. For Royo’s creativity, the fullness of the storyline, the fullness of the picture canvas and the unexpected novelty of a fantastic landscape are characteristic.
Every time the artist reveals a definitely significant event, often tragic. But, along with the global nature of the cosmic or even universal catastrophe that occurred, such as the destruction of the world, the picture always shows a high spiritual content, the dramatic nature of the events that occurred, affecting the fate of a particular person. In the picture of Louis Royo “The Invasion” a panorama unfolds only that of the past combat operations at sea.
Black clouds of smoke rise to the sky, sinking ships seem small and fragile next to the monstrous power of an alien – a pile of intelligent metal with a bloody heavy look. How many of them, ruthless killers, will arrive even on the poor ravaged planet, once inhabited by people.
