Thanks to the canons of rational aesthetics and the logic of art of the end of the 19th century, the Idyll came out real and natural. The nature of the relationship, clear faces, perfectly earthy forest, youth, beautiful bodies are a tribute to the age. The author ennobled the flirtation and dominant passion of the young man. There is no vulgarity in the narrative. There is a lot of embarrassment and games – games of emotions, games with words.
Bouguereau was famous for writing people. As a rule, his paintings were written with the image of characters in full growth, with observance of true proportions and growth. “Idyll” vividly demonstrates the artist’s talent as a connoisseur of human anatomy and facial expressions. His characters received beautiful bodies and skin color of white milk.
The delicate shoulders of the girl opened a delicious “impossible”, her color, namely, color, is close to velvet peach. Bugero packed the heroine almost all in clothes and covered his hair with a pink kerchief. This move was not particularly characteristic of the narration of love scenes. I want to add more saturated shadows, deepening the coolness of crowns and diluting the same mood of the main and long-range plans. Omitting these nuances, I want to say a few words about the canvas.
“Idyll” is beautiful and rich in emotions. This sweet moment of flirting and the heat of obsessive love. Bouguereau is an expert not only of our bodies, he is a master of human relations in oil… He was called ill-wishers by a debauchee, but is this so?
