Cima Giovanni Battista worked in a manner typical of Venetian masters of the Renaissance. His work was formed under the influence of the art of J. Bellini, from whom he studied painting. The artist was also influenced by the work of Antonello da Messina, Giorgione, early Titian.
The majestic composition “Holy Interview” is performed with solemn drama, which is emphasized with a sonorous, vivid color. Other famous works: “Introduction to the Temple.” OK. 1500. Picture gallery, Dresden; “Annunciation”. 1495. The Hermitage, St. Petersburg.
