Flemish landscape by Guy Johnson

In the picture of the American artist Gaius Johnson “Flemish Landscape” characters of the era of the Netherlands artist Hans Memling, neighbors with representatives of modernity, the attributes and morals of modern life. A bodybuilder near an expensive car, a frank erotic scene in the background of the picture, fantastic birds in the sky.

In the foreground of the picture is a married couple; they hold each other’s hands. A man – probably he is a priest – with a characteristic gesture warns of the sinfulness of what is happening behind his back. He addresses us, the audience. Guy Johnson appears before us as a master of surrealism with his own individual handwriting.
