Construction of the house by Konstantin Yuon

In Russia, houses were always built together, the whole village. Here and now the artist describes such an event. Summer day is slipping towards the sunset. In the center of the picture is not yet a finished log house. Some peasants stack up the next log, others on horses bring logs to the construction site. As a rule, women in such cases prepare food for everyone, and when the house is built, there will be a holiday – the whole village will celebrate this joyful event.

The artist is very realistic, vividly conveys the actions of people; unfinished log hut, seemingly warm from the sun, bushes and trees that surround the village. The evening sun gilds the wall of the log frame, chips on the ground, in the distance on the hill a small house.
