Church of St. Mary by Thomas Gainsborough

The corner of old England is the Catholic church and the old castle in the Romanesque style. This is indicated by the massive thick walls and towers of the castle, characteristic of the Romanesque era, the church window, the quadrangular tower, ending with a high spire with a cross at the end.

The painting is written in a mean palette of brown and beige shades and creates a feeling of peace, stability and inviolability of the law – everyone has his place in the world – both living and dead.
