Here, Carracci used a rather common story in European painting. In the way it is embodied, the influence of the Venetian masters is felt, although the composition of Carracci is much more modest and restrained than the pictures, for example, of Veronese.
However, in the love image of the richly embroidered clothes of St. Catherine, the Venetian tradition is easily discernible.
