Painting by Italian artist Sebastian Ricci “Memorial to Admiral Shovella.” Painting size 150 x 106 cm, oil on canvas. The work was written in conjunction with the artist’s nephew, Marco Ricci, another name for the artist’s paintings “Tombstone of Admiral Claudisley Shovella.”
In 1712-1716, along with his nephews, Marco Ricci, the painter worked in London, where he created murals at Burlington House. In the works created during this period of creativity, the artistic techniques of painting Sebastiano Ricci are even more striking, and the forms and details of the paintings seem to dissolve in a moving air atmosphere.
